The Pip Squeak Engine

This small steam engine is a perfect project for a first engine. The “SQUEAK” in the name comes from a small whistle that can be “tooted” while the engine is running on compressed air. The engine is only 4” tall and can be built with the smallest of lathes and drill press. This project is especially designed to be easy to make using all bar stock. The bore is ½”. The stroke is ¾”. With steel parts finished with “Gun Blue” and the brass parts shined – this little engine will be a treasure forever. The plans are five, 8 ½” x 11” pages and all drawings full size.
